Question and Answer
What is a typical Kansai Snow Club trip like?
Always a lot of fun...!!
We try to maximize the amount of time on the snow, whilst making things as cheap and as easy as we can. This means no night buses whenever possible!! If we go to Nagano area we usually combine it with a trip along the way to Gifu and then go on to Hakuba. This means that you can get a decent amount of time skiing/riding on both days but you avoid the nightmare of the night bus. We arrive in Hakuba in time to have dinner, refreshed after a nice snooze, have a party and then have a nice long day 2 before heading home. This is the way to do it. You are free to ski or ride with whoever and wherever you want. ( watch those ski patrols ! ) and we always combine our trips with some lively après-ski activities., so we will have fun parties, karaoke etc.., as well as some larger music and club events. On some trips we will also take part in some exciting festivals and unique cultural experiences.
We plan to get back to Osaka in the evening in time for everyone to get back home safely.
Where do we travel to?
We take day trips to Hachikita in Hyogo, Fukui Ski Jam, and Takasu snow park in Gifu.
Longer weekend trips will be to Hakuba, Nozawa Onsen and Minakami. We choose our trips to coincide with some event or based on the amount of snow that usually falls there, and easy access to bars and onsen
.
Are club trips compulsury?
No way! As member you can choose which trips you want to come on. You can come along on one trip, two trips, every trip, or no trips at all, the choice is yours!
Do club trips cater for beginners and first timers?
Definitely! The Ski resorts we travel to have at least 40% of their slopes dedicated to beginners. Traveling on a Kansai Snow Club trip is a great way to experience your first time on the slopes, as well as pick up tips from the more seasoned riders.
Can I rent ski/snowboard sets and snow wear?
For sure! Full snowboard / ski sets and snow wear are always available at very discounted prices on every club trip.
What is the accomodation like?
We usually stay at hotels or minshuku. Accomodation is shared but seperate for boys and girls unless you have a group of friends you want to be with.
Do I need insurance?
Kansai Snow Club takes out basic Ski and Snowboard insurance for each Club trip which covers hospital costs on the day if you injure yourself. It is compulsury that each member also has their own insurance, whether its travel, national health or through school/work in order to attend a trip.
How do I reserve a spot on a trip?
The best way is to use the online reservation form. Reservations can also be made by email or phone. Full details are provided to members by email. You must become a member (free!) of Kansai Snow Club before reserving a space on a Club Trip.
How do I pay for the trip?
Payment is by direct deposit or bank transfer to the Kansai Snow Club Account and is due 1 week after we receive your reservation in order to hold your space. Full details are emailed to members after reservation.
What if I need to cancel my reservation?
You can cancel your reservation at any time but as we have to book and pay deposits for Accomodation, transport etc in advance the following charges apply.
21 days or more before - Free
14 - 20 days before - 30% of trip cost
2 - 13 days before - 50% of trip cost
Day of the Trip/day before the Trip - 100% of trip cost
In the unlikely event that the Trip organisers have to cancel a Club Trip for any reason you will be refunded 100% of the cost of trip and we will let you know as soon as possible!
Can I ask another question?
Sure! Send any questions you have to kansaisnowclub@hotmail.com and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
